What Is A Health Coach?

Nov 8, 2014 ·

Stacey Clare

What is a 'health coach'?
It's a funny title, isn't it?
Sounds like someone who navigates life with a whistle around their neck, a really bad moustache and wears seriously tight shorts, right?

Well, not really. Here's why...

Pre-babes, my life was very different to how it is today. I lived a life fueled by stress, long work hours and very poor food choices. My endrometrosis, PCOS, IBS and general outlook of the world was the health outcome of this toxicity. I knew I needed help to change this but the reality was I needed a whole lot of people to help me! I wanted practical help with my nutrition but feared a nutritionist would be too autocratic. I wanted to learn ways to be more physically active, handle my stress better and to stop worrying about the wrong things. Blah blah blah - I needed help from every health practitioner under the sun but just had the time and money for one person.

So, fast forward a couple of years and ta da... after a lot of study, sleepless nights and a heck of a lot of hard work I've become the person I needed, a health coach.

As a health coach I wear a lot of hats; in one consultation we could be talking about anything from nutrition to psychology and stress-releasing tools. Typically, I meet with clients every fortnight, for around six months. Some weeks we'll work through ways to bring in healthier foods that work for you, others we'll work through stress-releasing techniques and then some weeks, we'll be in your kitchen where I'll show you some great techniques to save you time and ensure you eat better. Six months can sound like a long time, right?

We all know what it's like, you have the intention to change, you want to tweak things and to improve this or that but after a month, it's all over. Familiar? This is where I’d step in. Having a partner (in health) like me, over the course of a few months, will keep you focused, committed and right on track. The result will be a life change to health, not just a few weeks of change.

So, here I am. I'm Stace and I'm a health coach and I'm here to help. I am dedicated to showing others just how easy it can be to make changes that will transform their lives. If you’re in the market for some 'health coach' help, I might just be your wo-man.

Shoot me an email so we can set up your first free session.

Stace x
