1-hour Healthy Kids Breakfast Cook-up With My Thermomix – Episode 1

Grab your Thermomix and clear an hour on Sunday, because this week’s meal prep is all about kids brekkie. Three recipes, one cook-up session, a week of grab-and-go food the kids will actually eat.

We’re making high-protein berry gummies (yep, real-food gummies with eggs, butter and yoghurt), a chocolate protein baked pancake slice that lives in the fridge for weekday brekkies (or my dessert!), and honey soy chicken & egg McMuffins that freeze beautifully and reheat in the air fryer in 5 minutes.

Between them you’ve got brekkie sorted Monday to Friday, or gobble them up as an after-school snack that’s actually good for the kids, or lunchbox winners that don’t come out of a packet.

What we’re making this week

High-Protein Baked Chocolate Pancake

A healthy chocolate baked pancake, 8 portions, with 15g protein per slice, and my kids honestly think it’s cake! Winning. Grab a baking tray, because this is the brekkie that changed my Saturday monring cook-up. This one lives in our fridge from Sunday to Thursday. I pull it out, warm a slice, load it up…

Homemade High-Protein Berry Gummies

Real-food gummies made with eggs, butter, yoghurt, gelatin and berries. Kid-approved, brekkie-worthy, gut-loving. Grab your Thermie (or a saucepan and a blender), because we’re making the kids’ snack you’ll actually feel good about serving for brekkie. These gummies are packed with real-food ingredients that shop-bought gummies wish they had. The kids see “jelly for breakfast”…

Honey Soy Chicken & Egg McMuffin

If your kids love a McMuffin, try my copy-cat version only better. It’s a honey soy chicken, eggs, melty cheese, yummo and also freezer-friendly. Grab your frypan and a stack of English muffins, because we’re doing the drive-thru McMuffin run at home. It’s the fastfood- brekkie you loved as a kid, made cleaner and made…

The prep order

  • McMuffins first (0-25 min) — the eggs bake while you make the patties. Cook, cool, wrap, freezer.
  • Pancake slice next (25-45 min) — it bakes for 45 min unattended, so start it here and let it do its thing while you prep the gummies.
  • Gummies last (45-60 min) — 8 min cook + pour into moulds. They set in the fridge for 2 hours while you get on with your day.
