Oven Dehydrated Strawberries – Dried

My dehydrated strawberries that you can do in your oven are your answer to healthy lollies.

They’re SO easy to make, literally slice them up, pop them on a tray and let the oven do it’s a thang at a low and slow temperature.

I try and cut mine 3mm MAX width. The thinner the slice, the quicker they’ll dry.

Onto a lined tray they go.

Crispy and yum is how they’ll come out.

Store them in a glass jar.

My dehydrated strawberries that you can do in your oven are your answer to healthy lollies.
I make these when strawberries are in season, and you nab yourself 5 or 6 punnets for an absolute bargain.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2-6 punnets strawberries

Instructions

  1. Give your strawberries a good wash; I often soak them in water for a minute or two with a good splash of apple cider vinegar.
  2. Set your oven to the lowest temperature it can go, and line 2 or 3 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Dry off the strawberries on a tea towel and then chop them into slices, about 3mm thick at most.
  4. Lay the strawberries on the tray; close is OK as they will shrivel as they dry out.
  5. Cook for anywhere between 4-9 hours. Mine took 6.6 hrs at 50 degrees.
  6. They’re done when they’re crispy and not at all burnt.

Notes

Store these in a glass jar with one of those ‘absorb satchels’ you get in the kids’ seaweed packets. It will keep them crisp.

They also freeze WONDERFULLY!
